Bafata

Bafata is the the biggest city in Guinea-Bissau after Bissau, is the capital of the region with the same name. The city is located on the east side of the country, about 150 km from Bissau.

Amilcar Cabral, one of the icon of Guinea-Bissau History, was born in Bafata. Here you can find a small monument torso of him and to prove your visit you can send us a picture of you in front of the house where he was born.

Bafata is very privilege for having Rio Geba just by her feet. Geba flows through more than half of the country to join the Atlantic in Bissau, if you have the opportunity dont loose it and take a boat trip to enjoy the magnificent views of the river bank , our "bolanhas" (rice fieal), the fauna diversity and if you feel like it, dive in!
